Juan Elpidio Ojeda Sr. was born on May 17th, 1957 in Tijuana, Mexico, second child born to Dominga Graciela (Franco) Ojeda and Juan Aguirre Ojeda. The Ojeda family (Mama Grace & Papa and all 5 siblings) would eventually move to Long Beach, Ca. around 1968 where he grew up majority of his youth, young adult life and where he would eventually meet his future love of his life. He resided in his final years in Hemet, Ca. with his wife Ann Ojeda. On Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at Redlands Community Hospital, God called home one of the sweetest, humorous, kindest, strongest, most loving angels. Juan always had a caring compassion for everyone that came into his presence. Not only was his immediate family in abundance of the overflow of his selflessness but all his nieces and nephews felt this and loved being around Juan who they always favored as “Uncle John”. He was creative musically, loved playing his guitar and congas just as he did in his younger years in Long Beach with his garage band who were inspired by Latin-Infused rock who played locally in the city in the late seventies, early eighties. For those that knew Juan, know he was an avid guitarist and he was always spreading his musical energy around him playing vinyl records by Santana, WAR or Malo. In 1986 he enlisted in the US Army – National Guard, working as a Light Wheel Mechanic, moving his family to Yuma, AZ where he was stationed. His time in active duty was cut short after several years, he would sustain injury while working and not return to full military duty and moved his family back to Long Beach. Professionally his trade was Auto Mechanics, which he was certified and mastered for 20+ years and managed various reputable auto shops (Tune-Up Masters, Econo Lube) around Long Beach. Either with music instruments or tools, he definitely had a way with his hands as Juan was talented, handy and skillful in so many ways. He is preceded in death by: his mother who died in 1997, his father who died in 2006, his brother Jimmy who died in 2018, his brother Jorge who died in 2019 and his brother Joe who died in 2020. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife of 45 years Ann, his sister Lourdes (Lulu), all four of his children, Juan Jr. (Johnny), Leticia (Tisha), Nicolas and Rosanna. All of his grandchildren (Crystal, Nicolas Jr. (Enjay), Kianna, Anthony, Keanu, Kamalu, Kylo, Mary), his son-in-law’s (Mike, Fernando), daughter-in-law’s (Sophana, Maryam) and a plethora of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who adored Juan. We will all miss his funny antics and heart-warming smiles. We thank GOD for allowing you in our presence and blessing you with us for 65 years. We will love you FOREVER!
