James Leslie Watson III, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022. He was born on December 3, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to James Leslie Watson Jr. , and Josephine Sanfillipo. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1960. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Darlene Watson (nee Johnson); his daughter, Teresa Ann Watson of Indio, Ca. ; his son James Leslie Watson IV, (Gina) of Carlsbad, Ca. ; his grandsons, James Leslie Watson V, (Michele) of Tijuana, Mexico; Joseph Louis Watson, (Penny) of Carlsbad, Ca. ; Casey James Watson of Carlsbad, Ca. ; his granddaughter, Morgan Marie Watson of Carlsbad, Ca. ; and a great step grandson, Elias of Carlsbad, Ca,; his brothers Terry Watson (Cindy Logan) of Ohio; Gary Watson (Cindy) of Ohio and his sister, Jo Ann Frederick of Irmo SC, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jim was a volunteer firefighter and did volunteer work at several police departments throughout the years. He worked at Mason and Dixon Freight Lines for over 20 years. He briefly worked as a police officer in Cleves,Ohio, before moving to Jacksonville, Fl. in 1993, where he worked at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club before moving to Anthem, Az. in 2003. In Anthem, Az. , he worked for the HOA, before moving to Cumming, Ga. in 2012. In Cumming, Ga. , he volunteered at the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, before he became employed there, after several months. In 2016, he moved to St. Augustine, Fl. and three years later moved to Indio, Ca. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family and friends, and everyone who knew him. His ashes are placed at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, Ca.
