Cary is a beloved father, grandfather, father-in-law, cousin and friend to many. He was the adventurer always looking for something fun to do. The antique dealer who loved the art of scoring a great find, refinishing a piece to restore its natural beauty or striking up a conversation with a fellow antique collector enthusiast. A man who never wanted to just sit down and relax. An avid country and bluegrass music lover who wanted to take in all the live music he could. Cary used his career in social work for the city of Chicago to help others in the community. Chicago was the city he loved so dearly and lived in for most of his life. He would frequent so many of Chicago’s amazing museums, the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Adler Planetarium, the beaches, the restaurants; anything in Chicago was his playground to explore. Travel was not just reserved for the great city of Chicago. Out of the 47 states my father visited he held a special love for California like no other. His dream of living in the sunshine state was told over and over for most of his adult life. Before his passing Cary made it to California with his family. As difficult as it was for him to leave Chicago behind his dream did become reality. Sitting outside with the sun on his face and the mountains greeting him is a memory that will be rooted with his family forever.
